Jeremiah and Jen's wedding!

New! Jen has assembled our wedding album site. Check it out. It's beautiful, and it shows you everything you can't see here.

[Invitation]

Welcome to the deck of the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien, docked in the San Francisco Bay.

The ceremony was performed on top of the hatch cover of the No. 2 hold. The reception was held inside the hold (and on the cannon for some of the guests!).

[Wedding Portrait]
(Or the evil version)

Our thanks go out to to the hundreds of people around the world who joined us virtually for our wedding. We also offer our undying grattitude to those who helped us put on the wedding and to those who helped put it on the net.

Iguana Images, owned by the best man, Kamal Mostafa, provided us the IguanaCam software and the camera. Wave Communications, owned by Gregg Bonn, one of our musicians, provided us the cellular phone and adapter to the modem. We greatly appreciate all of their contributions.

The setup was extremely problematical, untested, and last-minute. I frankly find it miraculous that we pulled it off. Despite the transmission problems we encountered, I count it a success and was very pleased to share it with all of you.

All set up. A lone guest stands in the aisle.
Still set up.
The first guests arrive. Jen's father, Tom, keeps an eye on things.
The guests are all ready and waiting.
The ceremony begins. The backs are (from left to right) Ted, Kamal, the groom (me), the Chaplain, and Catharine.
Jen and I take our vows.
Eric (my new brother-in-law) rocks out after the ceremony (image upload interrupted).
The guests start to party (image upload interrupted).
The ship and the Bay (image upload interrupted).
The reception is in full swing. Party! (image upload interrupted)
The Oakland shipyards in the distance (image upload very interrupted).
The Oakland hills in the distance (image upload very interrupted).

PS. It's a shame that Jen's face was blocked by the chaplain -- she was the most beautiful bride ever :-) . I'll post images from the photos and video later.
